The Challenge: 68 Weeks. 71 Recipes.
I plan on doing this for lunch today when my mom comes home from school; I have never cooked with Kielbasa or even heard of it. I was a bit confused when I read the directions when Kanan said to, “cut the kielbasa into 6 lengths, then butterfly the pieces by slicing them lengthwise” after I looked at the picture of the burgers I finally understood what he meant.
I admit it, as I do every post… I’m scared!

We don’t have a grill! I asked my dad how we were going to make it if we didn’t have a grill… He said to use the stove.. but Kanan said at the beginning of the directions,
” Prepare a grill to medium-high or preheat the broiler.”
We don’t have a broiler either. so I will do my best and figure out how to do it with a stove..Sometimes I feel weird when I tell my friends I don’t have most of the cool equipment they have at home… Mainly, of course, a large kitchen or 10 different kinds of pans.
And a grill.
I might not have a whole lot of things that my classmates might have but at least I have the determination to get onto the next level and graduate and finally be able to open up my own restaurant!

I will now wait till mom comes home. In the meantime, I will be playing Battlefront. 🙂

~TIME SKIP~
Okay! Time to cook! I started to mix the lettuce with the balsamic vinegar and the olive oil, then I threw the onions on the pan with oils. As it popped, I had to dodge every spark of fire and boiling oil, now I’m an expert at dodging!

As I said before, I didn’t know how to cook Kielbasa…. so I literally threw it in another pan. Forgetting that I had to cut them into slices… That’s when my dad came in and saved the day by grabbing it and cutting them into butterfly slices!

So then I put together the sandwiches… To me they tasted like Teriyaki burgers in Carl’s Jr…. but better! Healthier! My dad had to agree with me. The only thing I would say to change would be the bread, instead of onion rolls, I would choose some other type of bread. That’s all for today and see you in the next post!

P.S. You can get Freddie’s book here and cook up some of these AMAZING recipes yourself!
P.P.S. The idea behind this came from a film called Julie & Julia which you can check out here!
