Second Sister
After Order 66, the remaining Jedi were hunted down and destroyed.
But the Sith didn’t do it all alone.
They trained Inquisitors specifically for that task. Many were former Jedi. The Inquisitors hunted down Jedi survivors and found Force-sensitive children who might further serve the dark side.
The Inquisitors first appeared in Star Wars Rebels. They are usually relentless, ruthless, and singly focused on their mission.
I can’t wait to learn more about the Third Sister in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series! In the meantime, let’s look back on what we’ve seen of the Inquisitors so far!

The Purge

After the Clone Wars ends, the Jedi have been deemed traitors and the Emperor continues to destroy any trace of them. Palpatine puts Darth Vader in charge of training the Inquisitors to hunt Jedi and together they continue to snuff out any survivors they can find. The Inquisitors become the Jedi hunters for the Sith.
In addition to hunting Jedi survivors, they also seek out Force-sensitive children to either serve their own ends or to stop them from ever becoming Jedi…
Vader himself joins many of the Inquisitors’ early missions including stopping a lone Jedi survivor trying to reclaim Jedi knowledge for future generations and ending the Jedi allies at the subjugation of Mon Cala. Vader even strikes down anyone who shows a hint of disobedience.
An Ahsoka in hiding finds herself face to face with the Sixth Brother as she tries to help the people of Raada. Ahsoka would reclaim and purify the kyber crystals from the Inquisitor’s lightsaber to create her new lightsabers.
Dark Times

As the Empire marches on under the rule of the Sith the Jedi are all but extinct. During these dark times, The few surviving Jedi remain in hiding. We know a few stories of the survivors: Ahsoka, Kenobi, Kanan, Yoda, and a few others.
On Bracca, a Jedi in hiding Cal Kestis, would find himself being hunted by the Second Sister and the Ninth Sister after using the Force and revealing himself. His adventures would take him across the galaxy searching for ancient knowledge and contemplating the future of the Jedi.
After 10 years in hiding, Kenobi finds Inquisitors have come to Tatooine. Reva (the Third Sister,) The Grand Inquisitor, and the Fifth Brother all appear in the trailer. I can’t wait to see what happens there.

As the Jedi drift into legend and the spark of rebellion starts catching fire, Kanan Jarrus begins reconnecting with his Jedi roots to train a young Ezra Bridger. As Ezra’s words inspire the rebellion to form an alliance, the Inquisitors are on their trail. Kanan and Ezra realize that to protect the rebellion they must face the Inquisitors and draw them away from their rebel friends.
On Malachor, Kanan, Ezra, and Ahsoka face the Inquisitors and a mysterious former Sith Maul. Although Kanan is wounded and Ahsoka is seemingly lost, the Inquisitors are defeated.

As the Galactic Civil war rages on, tales of the Inquisitors dwindle. A rebel infiltrates Fortress Vader posing as an Inquisitor. Hunting for Jedi knowledge, Luke Skywalker faces a ghostly Grand Inquisitor in a forgotten Jedi temple. Far into the times of the New Republic, a young Force wielder with the power of psychometry would find relics of the Inquisitors’ existence.
Inquisitors show up in a few other whispered tales. In Dark Legends, the Grand Inquisitor haunts an orphanage searching for a child strong in the Force. In T0-B1 an Inquisitor hunts a Jedi survivor down, leaving his robot creation to finish his life’s work.
Worse Than Death
The Inquisitors are hunters for the Sith. Along with Purge troopers, they eradicate the last Jedi across the galaxy. Any rumors, sightings, or hints of Jedi activity will bring an Inquisitor to search for the culprit. Much like the Sith themselves, they exist outside of the official Imperial military while still being able to command its resources.
From the Grand Inquisitor to the Tenth Brother and all those in between, I’m certain we haven’t seen the last of the Inquisitors. I’m definitely looking forward to their path crossing with Kenobi and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
