Sav Malagan‘s undercover pirate adventure leads her across the galaxy all the way back to finding what’s most important about being a Jedi, friends who stand up for each other, and plenty of adventure! Together with her pirate gang determined to save Maz Kanata from the dastardly Dank Graks (who are actually pretty cool for the most part…) they work together to find strength, courage, and faith in each other!
Therm Scissorpunch! Friends saving friends! Chaos on Jedha! Inspiration! Hugs! And Smiles!
Look, half of these moments are going to involve Therm Scissorpunch…
so…
You’ve been warned.
SPOILERS AHEAD!

School’s Out
Sav is a bit impatient according to her master. We’ve all had days like these amirite?
Master Kaktorf is a little funny-looking tho…

The Battle of Jedha
Another breathtaking Tolibao splash page. This time depicting the Eiram and E’ronoh forces at Jedha.
It is pretty rad to finally see them visually represented after all the books and audio dramas we’ve heard about them in.

Smile
Dex has a simple and clean description of his relationship with Maz.

On Your Left
Silandra Sho and her shield make a nice little cameo. Therm isn’t quite up to that challenge…
or is he…

Bad Motivator
Maybe a pep talk from Officer Rado can inspire Therm to live up to his moniker.

THERM STATE
Another splash page of Therm as he lives up to his potential! He’s everything I always knew he would be!

No Mercy
Look, this is the last Therm moment I promise but how could I not.
How. Could. I. Not.

Quick Draw
Quiet Shan gets her Tenchu moment with a stealth kill.
I’m sure there might be a more recent video game to make this reference work but I refuse.

In Some Ways, a family
Dex lets Sav know she isn’t alone. And sometimes that’s all any of us need.

OBJECTION!
Master Kaktorf is overruled and called ancient with the most merciless of burns.

My Friends Make the Impossible Possible
The High Republic Adventures written by Daniel José Older wraps up our journey with Sav Malagan and brings us to the end of Phase II of The High Republic. Toni Bruno and Harvey Tolibao once again hit us with gorgeous illustrations full of color, expression, and heart. I loved the cast of characters which all had heartfelt moments. Watching another point of view of the Battle of Jedha unfold was visually stunning! The chaos and charm Older brings to the story make this one of my personal favorites which is no surprise to anyone who has read any of my other reviews…
This comic is a must-read for High Republic fans looking for a full-circle tale of light and life!
