Hiding From the Dark: A Star Wars Horror Novel Review!

“Never tell anyone anything you don’t have to.”

Pira Rovyno

Bia’s mom hasn’t come home. Bia knows it’s up to her to find her mom even though she’s only a kid. But can a kid stand up to everything dangerous out there in the galaxy? Can a kid outrun the dark nightmare that haunts their dreams? Can a kid find her mom out there among all the stars in the galaxy?

Exploding stars! An escape hatch! Lightning strikes! And a living nightmare!

Nightmares

Bia has nightmares of a being of pure darkness emerging from the shadows. Faceless. Unstoppable. When Bia awakens, the terror still clings to her.

But it was just a dream… right?

Alone

Bia’s mom has been gone for three days. Bia knows something is wrong, but what should she do? Keep waiting at home alone? Or is her mom in trouble, and does she need help? Bia isn’t sure, but she can’t wait any longer. She has to do something.

Bits and Pieces

Hiding From the Dark is a wonderfully crafted story full of terror, tension, and determination. Kiersten White crafts a haunting tale of a young child searching for family, no matter what fears she must face. And in a galaxy full of shadows, there is plenty to be scared of. Bia is a wonderfully brave character, much like Omega from The Bad Batch. Young, brave, and resourceful. The tension in this book is palpable throughout, and the fears Bia faces would even scare a grown-up! While the book is made for middle-grade readers, Star Wars has a way of making stories that reach across all ages and demographics.

This is a must-read for young readers looking for scares in the shadows!
