Charles Soule does an excellent job of taking us through Kylo’s journey. The story is extremely character-focused, and Kylo Ren is a fascinating character that I’m always eager to learn more about. In addition to Vanee and Hux, Soule has brought in some new characters! An Order 66 Jedi survivor named Grandea. The return of the Knights of Ren with their brand new leader, Tava Ren. And of course, even some visions of the Dark Lord Vader himself!

Luke Ross and Stefano Raffaelle lend some beautiful art to these pages. The art is expressive, explosive, energetic, and bold.

This series dives right into Kylo’s motivations and the drive behind his dark side journey. Soule has an amazing insight that makes this series compelling. So many new characters and familiar favorites throughout. The Hux relationship remains contentious, one-sided, and enjoyable. The series is wonderful, but it definitely leaves some threads I hope are explored in the future.
