SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD!

After the Storm
A pirate. A prisoner. A princess. Lourna Dee has been many things. But as the Nihil, the Nameless, and the blight wreak havoc across the galaxy Lourna might not be able to avoid getting involved. But can Lourna be trusted? That’s a whole other question. Or more importantly, can Lourna trust herself?

Allies or Enemies?
Lourna ends up as an ally of the Jedi. After the events of The High Republic comic series, Keeve Trennis thinks Lourna might be an invaluable resource in the mission to capture Baron Boolan. Avar Kriss and Lourna have quite the dramatic history which makes their relationship all the more volatile. Together with characters from her recent adventures in the Occlusion Zone, the story takes some wild turns.

Bringing in the Baron
The Jedi and Republic are desperate to capture the mad Nihil scientist Baron Boolan. His experiments on the Nameless, the Jedi, the Children of the Storm, and the Blight are all things the galaxy desperately needs answers to. Boolan might be a genius but he won’t be cooperative.
Marchion Ro also knows that his Minister of Science, Baron Boolan has the secrets to keep him one step ahead of the galaxy. Ro won’t let the Jedi have any hope of stopping his plans no matter the cost. Lourna Dee has a personal vendetta against Ro but will she get the chance to settle it?

Bits and Pieces
Tempest Breaker is just as wild and unrelenting as Lourna Dee herself. Cavan Scott takes Lourna on a journey that undoubtedly changes her and sets up plenty of what’s to come. All the voice performances are amazing as usual and the story works wonderfully in the audio drama medium. The framing of the story as told by Lourna in an interview with Rhil Dairo works perfectly to put everything into context. Now that Lourna is working alongside the Jedi she might have to compromise a little more than she’s used to. Her drive, fury, and ruthlessness are on full display throughout this story but if you think you’ve got her figured out, she may have a few more surprises up her sleeve. The bigger pieces of The High Republic storytelling are huge for Marchion Ro and Baron Boolan. This has got to be one of the strongest audio dramas Star Wars has released thus far and I can’t wait to see what’s next for these characters!
This is a must-listen for fans of Lourna Dee looking for answers on the bigger picture of Phase III!
