Star Wars Hunters is finally here!!

Star Wars Hunters is a free-to-play arena combat video game available on the Nintendo Switch, Ios, and Android devices! Hunters released on June 4th, 2024 and we have enjoyed it ever since!
So are you thinking about trying it?
Well, it’s free so there’s no reason not to!
There are in-game purchases and lots of fun characters and cosmetics but you can ignore all that and just play for free! I gave it a few days before purchasing the arena pass with the new character to ensure the gameplay would keep me interested. And now about a month later I don’t regret my $10 purchase! I’ve definitely got more than that amount of enjoyment!

The gameplay is probably comparable to Overwatch or the Hero Battle mode of Battlefront. Each character has their own playstyle, skills, and weapons. Rounds are nice and quick so it’s a game that doesn’t require much time commitment. As you play you upgrade your characters’ skills, costumes, and even some fun emote stickers. There isn’t really a story mode but if you pay attention to the events and read different descriptions of items and skills in the menus there are a lot of fun little story pieces you can pick up on. Not to mention LOTS of references and familiar mentions throughout. I’ve played on the Switch and the cell phone and I definitely prefer the experience much more on the Switch (buttons rock.) but the cell phone version works fine.

The characters are wonderfully varied, fun, and sometimes a little wacky. Which is perfect for a game like this. The whole experience draws you into the Star Wars galaxy without feeling overly serious and definitely leans into the fun! The play styles of each character are wildly different and every character feels unique.

Are you not entertained?
Each battlefield is distinct. Most are familiar locales to Star Wars enthusiasts but there are a few new and original places to enjoy. Each level has different hazards and traversal challenges. They are definitely fun to explore if you can survive long enough!

There are a few different modes. Brawl is just a race to 25 kills. Power Control is capturing control points to win. Dynamic control is similar but the control points move. Trophy Chase is capturing a droid (TR0-F33) and holding onto it to earn points. There’s even a Huttball mode where teams fight for the ball to shoot and score goals!
All modes are 4 v 4 so teamwork is essential!

There is a shop with plenty of in-game purchases. As you play you earn crystals and credits. So you can always make a few purchases without actual money. You also have the option to purchase more crystals and some shop items are simply a dollar amount. You can always enjoy the game without spending but the shop has plenty of costumes, weapon skins, emote stickers, victory poses, and things like that to enhance your enjoyment if you choose to drop some cash! I love the costumes that are references to familiar characters. It’s such a fun way to include familiar characters we know and love!
This costume was purchased with credits earned through matches and didn’t cost any actual money!
Also, there are daily challenges, events, and quests that unlock more costumes and currency so no matter what you can always unlock something new! The game team has also promised future additions of characters, battlefields, and modes to come!
So head on over to the official website and pick it up on your device for free!! You’ve got nothing to lose and plenty to enjoy!
